That shite is nasty!!!!!!!
They had a tasting at Hokus Pokus in Dutchtown.
Tasted like someone melted down black jellybeans and put in the Jagermeister, then added Everclear.
This shite was 120 proof and was not smooth.

Suppose to cut it with really cold water slowly added

Yeah it's challenging to the palate when consumed straight up.
It functions much better as a liqueur, i.e. 1/2 oz or so added to a glass of champagne (Hemingway's favorite cocktail called Death in the Afternoon).

You generally don't drink it for the taste. After the first one, the rest will go down easy.
Enjoy your dreams. Ask me how I know.

Go to Old Absinthe House on Bourbon and do it the proper way with the spoon, sugar cube, and water spout.

This and remember to enjoy your dreams. Report back.

And definitely enjoy all the pretty colors

Yea, it's not really meant to be had on on its own. Even with the sugar cube and water it's difficult. The New Orleans made Atelier Vie red absinthe is really strong.

I'll shoot it but I regret it Everytime

This is the way I've always heard it done. I've never tried it myself. Used to drink a little Anisette though in my younger days.

Try it on a super warm day with ice cold water and a sugar cube. It is probably the muse of air conditioning

Yeah but that wasn't REAL absinthe.

Had absinthe at the absinthe bar across from the Delirium Cafe in Brussels. That's the real shite. Worst hangover of the whole trip.

The liquor rep said it is the real thing. Same recipe as Europe's since it was legalized in US 5 years ago.

Not last time I read up on it. No wormwood in the US version. Like drinking decaf coffee.
