Arse's Fatty Rewind™ (Lazy weekend edition)

I was supposed to go to Auburn this weekend, but that changed quickly when some bitch arse 15 year old decided haunted houses were more important. He might have seen the writing on the wall for that abomination of a game. My Les glasses are always on. Either way, I'm still going to punch that little bitch for ruining my plans.
Friday after work, I ran home for a few Beams. We then went to Bourbon Proof. They have BBQ there now, and I decided to give it a shot, since I was let down by 12 Mile. It's called Black Label.
I ordered the nachos, poppers and cowboy sliders. How did I miss that fried pickle spear? FML.
The food was great. Those little poppers wrapped in bacon were heavenly. I'm looking forward to my return trip.
The "secret" bathroom there has some amazing wall paper.
I awoke on Saturday to cool skies. I washed my car and ran to the cleaners. I was wanting a beer/drink, but it was only 8:30. I saw the doors to the Irish House were open, so I swung in. No one was there but the employees. The doors were open and the breeze was filling the bar. A few soccer games were on, but I couldn't tell you who was playing. The bartender and I were shooting shite about rugby. I decided to order the Irish breakfast and a pint of Guinness.
The breakfast is very good and a hearty start to the morning. The blood sausage was tasty, but a tad overcooked. I don't like breakfast sausage, so I didn't eat that. The grilled tomato, onions and mushrooms make the plate excellent.
After eating, I went home to shower before shopping on Canal St. I had to step up on my hat game, so I went to New Era. After a few minutes, I became thirsty for some bourbon. I went to the Sazerac for an old fashion. They make one of the best in the city, and I appreciate that there are no televisions in the bar.
I then went uptown to pick up my brother (a poster to remain anonymous) to enjoy the day in the Quarter. His wife and kid were out of town, so it's good to take him out sometimes.
We attempted to go to Amelie to dine outside. But some bitch decided to get married on a game day, and they closed at 1:00. I'll pray for her marriage.
We went to El Gato Negro. We got table side quac, ceviche and a taco. We also had a few Modelos.
My only complaint is that the tuna wasn't chopped up enough in the ceviche. Some pieces were very clumpy.
We then went to Lafitte's to throw on some slow jams and drink some Beam. My friend showed up, and she wanted to take all of us for a ride in her Delta 88. We drove around and were the envy of many people. When we returned to the bar, a marine and his bride asked to take a pic in the car. We obliged, and I apologized for cursing her marriage for getting married on a game day. (She's the bride who had Amelie closed.)
We headed uptown around 4 to go buy some ribeyes, dips, potatoes and Beam. We grilled the steaks and almost puked them up after watching Chief's defense get shredded once again.
To the poster that suggested that I try Dean's French Onion, I apologize but I was not a fan. It was too thick. I prefer my french onion dip a little less dense.
I then passed out.
On Sunday, I went to the early mass so I could meet my old rugby pal at Handsome Willy's for 9. From there, we would head to the Dome.
I started my morning with a double Beam and pork burrito.
The burrito's pork was shockingly above average. I was slightly impressed. The bacon was a nice addition.
I then ordered some pink drink I saw many people with. It was a rum drink, which tasted like a slightly sweet hurricane.
After I finished that, I grabbed a few beers for the walk to the Dome. I saw this OT gym rat on my way. His water jug made me jealous.
Once inside, I got a few more beers and Supreme Nachos. When I asked asked what made it "supreme," the employee told me cheese, chili, olives, peppers and whipped cream. Whipped cream? I was sold.
I was left disappointed when it came out with sour cream. Bless that boy's heart.
After the victory, we went to the Circle Bar for a few celebratory drinks.
I then went to Sunday dinner. We had bbq shrimp, redfish couvillion and peanut butter pie. The redfish was caught on Friday.
It was a great conclusion to a Sunday. The meal was amazing, and the bourbon was top notch. The pie was even a healthy version of a recipe.
This morning I went to the Red Mass. Before the mass, I stopped in Stanley and got an omelette sandwich. It was money.
Until next weekend, stay fat my friends.

Dude that bbq shrimp & redfish couvillion looks fricking awesome. Props to whomever cooked that up.
Can't say the same for the shite you ordered at El Gato Negro
And Irish House has disappointed each time I've tried to give them shot. Won't be back.

Glad to see they upgraded nicely from Ms Maes.

I tried Black Label a few weekends ago. The poppers were excellent, but I didn't care for the rest. Think I tried the brisket, slaw, beans and a few others.
That being said, the menu looks updated. They didn't have pickles, and the nachos were "off menu".
ETA: Shrimp looks awesome!
