I suspect one is a narcissist, the other is not.

Or could it be that one is still very popular with their party and the other isn't?

If he stays on the campaign trail he broadens his "prospects."

Interesting you use Clinton and not Obama. Why are dems running not asking for campaign help from Obama?

Hmmmmmm. I guess being like Bush is the new gold standard for dems.

Obama is definitely not popular with Democrats trying to be re-elected.

Because the media has poisoned the public's perception of W. line of complete bull$hit, yet they still fellate WJC and push his brand of bull$hit like it is something special. In particular, Democrats worship the Clintons almost as much as the Kennedys, so there's that.

Plus, former democratic presidents, typically, have no shame. Carter and Clinton badmouthed their Republican successors at every opportunity - Nixon, Ford, Reagan, HW and W, generally kept their mouth shut. Really, only Reagan did any sort of campaign stuff, post Presidency, and even then it was fairly limited.

sure, could be

also the fact that one has a spouse mounting a presidential campaign may be relevant

CLinton craves the attention and the admiration people have for him. Bush is more comfortable withing his own skin and doesnt need that attention. They are two completely different people with very distinctive personalty differences.

Maybe. But there's no doubt Clinton is a narcissist.

Because the media has constantly attacked and vilified Bush during his presidency, that he wants to just keep a low profile now.

I mean hell, they'll show Bill Clinton lecturing us on women's rights without batting an eye.

Because GWB actually wants to be out of the spotlight, and does not have a wife running for President.

Plus the worst one - EVER. In a couple of years, you'll have the two worst EVER - assuming Jimmuh lives that long.

I think it has more to do with Bush not wanting to be in the spotlight.

He may come out in a few years and do more appearances
