We do at least have a popular former president above ground.

And his foreign policy led, directly, to 9/11 and the GWOT.

Because the media has poisoned the public's perception of W. line of complete bull$hit,
It's the media who made the public finally realize Saddam and Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11
It's the media who made the public finally realize we should never have invaded and then occupy Iraq.
It's the media who made the public finally realize Afghanistan was/is/and always will be a failed state and we should have "hit it and quit it" as soon as we destroyed the mother frickers.
It's the media who made the public finally realize all of this has cost well over $1 trillion and with continued spending on those black holes, one estimate was that we would spend upwards of $5 trillion.
It's the media who made the public finally realize that Saddam had no WMD, after Gulf War I, he could not and did not acquire any, that as part of the peace agreement, much of his stockpiles were destroyed, a lot of it was bombed by Clinton in 1998 and what's left was eroded, thus even that was for naught.
It's the media who made the public finally realize that he and his cohorts had sold them a bill of goods and continued with the bullshite.
So yes, you are correct. But the problem is, the media should have done this before the invasion. Instead, they were rah rah rahing right along with Hillary and Kerry, too scared to not "support the troops"... too scared of being "dixie-chicked"... IOW sold their souls.

Or could it be that one is still very popular with their party and the other isn't?

I didn't read any of that.

That's a good question, especially since Clinton had sex with an intern, was accused of raping a woman and lied under oath.
Oh, no it isn't, dems have no morals so why worry about a predident who is no count. You thinking he is a good person reflects on you.

There is a certain type of popularity that cannot be quantified that Clinton has, and it makes many Republican men jealous, and that jealousy actually adds to this popularity.

Because former dem leaders know they can lie to their voting base and the GOP know that shite won't fly with their's.
The mindless left loves them some false pulpit pounding Bill and Obama...Keep sucking it up bruh.

Tell me sir... what did Bush do to prevent 9/11 during those 8 months he was president?
We know Cheney was appointed to head an anti-terrorism commission which never meant.
In July 2001, Bush was given a briefing prepared for senior government officials warned of "a significant terrorist attack against U.S. and/or Israeli interests in the coming weeks. The attack will be spectacular and designed to inflict mass casualties ... (it) will occur with little or no warning."
LINK
We know the Attorney General stopped flying commercial aircraft at that time because of the threat assessment. LINK
So what did Bush do with these threats? I mean besides have his AG fly in private jets.
Did he warn the American public?
Did he have his VP actually form the commission he was supposed to head?
Did he order the FBI, CIA and other agencies to do anything more than the usual?
No. He went on vacation. For any entire month. The entire month of August and early September.
So next time we laugh when you guys get upset because Obama took an afternoon off for golf when bad things are happening, just remember your guy who you have the nerve to argue was given a tough time by the press.

Why is it Bill Clinton campaigns for Democrats But G.W. never campaigns for R's?
Hmmm.
Bill Clinton is popular.
George W Bush isn't. Hardly anyone who voted for the guy will even admit it.

One is toxic and the other isn't.

this. Clinton supervised a huge boom, and the good times. people remember that. And the negatives of him were mostly forgotten.
But Bush? People are reminded regularly of the frick up that was iraq. It was probably the biggest FP blunder since the bay of pigs, if not a bigger blunder.
If republicans thought getting bush on the trail would help their prospects, I suspect he would make more appearances. But they know he is toxic. they don't ask, he gets to continue to paint.

My question is , why aren't there other democrats out there that you guys can hitch your wagon to? You guys keep bashing the republican potential candidates but if you take Hillary out of the picture who do you have left?
At this time - nobody. If Biden and that "when I need to be an Indian" woman is all you have to hitch your wagon to, then I'd say you guys are a couple of horses short of having a team.

Clinton campaigns for democrats because he is the best democrat President in generations. This sucks for republicans since Clinton is also the best republican President since Nixon.

i think HRCs mere presence dissuades others from entering. on paper she is a very compelling candidate.
Schweitzer, webb, Napolitano, warner all have been tossed about, any of these would potentially be a pretty strong candidate.
