Haha. A Magic 8-ball was the first thing that popped into my mind to answer this as well.

Has he even played since Wisconsin?
Seems like it's been Jeter, Dickson and Gordon.

6 scholarship tight ends boggles my mind

We need to trade some TEs before the trading deadline for a few DTs....

Seriously? Lets all quit even mentioning our under size tackles that they call te's. They would be better off putting a real olineman in there for the spot.

I definitely think we need to somehow get our TE's in our offense more, especially out of the Ace formation that just screams run. It'll make defenses play us more honest if we can succeed at it.

Jeter might get more involved with the passing game this week. He's supposed to be a pretty good receiver.

Uh, CCC loves using the TE in the passing game, according to media...must be in the "secret play" book, since no one has seen it since CCC has been at LSU...come to think of it, we really didnt see it before CCC got there...hmmm, since CLM doesn't read tRant, he will never figger out how the TE in the passing game actually works..

He's a tight end. So....no.
It's unfortunate, we got 2 really good tight ends in Smith and Washington. If they continue to rot away on the bench, it'll be the end of elite TE's coming to LSU. What pass catching tight end wants to come play in a 1970s offense that runs 3x more than it throws.

No, I'm not seeing him much on the field. Gordon, Dickson, Jeter, and that Moore fellow who I guess is a walk on. No Smith and no Stokes, who played last year quite a bit.
Until I see it, I've given up on the TEs catching passes or even being thrown too. Even then, one may catch 3 or 4 in a game and everyone will get excited, and the next game the TEs will not get a pass.

How much ya wanna bet on that?

Why any TE worth their salt would come here is beyond me.....we simply do not incorporate them to any significant degree into the game plan.

When will we get any TE involved in the offense ever?
Posted on 9/16/14 at 11:25 pm to Brunedog
Why would a tight end ever commit to LSU?
Posted on 9/16/14 at 11:28 pm to Hoovertigah
Seems to me that everytime they throw one of them a pass they F it up so I don't blame the coaches for not using them.

Maybe if our tight ends would stop being liabilities in the passing game we would use them. For now, I'm perfectly happy letting them block, and using our RB's who actually catch the ball (and hold on to it) as our "last read" guys

Do you not understand that TEs run routes over the middle or up the seam where there are several defenders? The staff is tselecting plays that are safe.
