How much are you looking to spend?

I always recommend Americas, my personal favorite

Capital Grille has been the best food I've had thus far. Was at Reef last week, but only drank.

Was there for lunch today and the menu appears to have changed, and not for the better.

Everybody has their opinions on Tex-mex in houston, I prefer el tiempo. Their filet fajitas are the best in town IMO.

For a nice dinner try pappas steakhouse or Vic & Anthony's. There are tons of fancy places like underbelly, reef, uchi, etc. But if you just want a great steak at a nice place i recommend those two.

Will have to try it one day. It always gets mentioned here and by "real" people. Always positive.

What is it? TexMex? More authentic? Cuban or some other Latin emphasis? Or all of the above and just a couple notches above in quality?

El Tiempo was mentioned. WARNING for all pre game Tiger fans. If you want to blackout for the entire game have more than 2. some of you youngsters livers may still be in their college prime. But they put me on my arse. So if you are pouring beer on top of those before and after, you may wake up next to a dead hooker in East Houston.

Ate at El Tiempo last night on Washington, fajitas were fantastic.

Rowdy LSU crowd there last night on the porch too.
