Wife told me she got Saints-49ers tickets and we want to go eat somewhere nice Friday night and make a weekend of it. Help recommend some places, price isn't a factor and do these places take reservation? Not a deal breaker if can get in within a reasonable time.

La Boca - Argentinian steakhouse
Peche- seafood; James Beard award winner for 2014
Cochon- same owners as Peche. Ranked top 20 restaurant in the country. Incredible.

You can't go wrong. I'd just surf their websites.

ETA: yes they take reservations but make sure you make them more than a few days out

Cochon. Really, this is pretty great.

Recommended: Chicken Liver app. Can't recall the name of it.

Doesn't matter. Every place produces ambrosia down there.

All great recommendations. I'll also throw out August and La Petite Grocery. Both top notch.

We were thinking along the lines of August but menu looked limited.

How do you mean it's "limited?"

If you're looking for August style dining then also consider:

Revolution
Bayona
Gautreau's
Marti's
Commander's Palace
Lilette

Well for entrees there were 7 options, so I would say yes.

I see. Well, if you want to eat in the Quarter, there's a Bubba Gump. I'm pretty sure it has a gift shop, expansive entree options, and so much more!

Seems like it's your speed.

August is fantastic. It's not cheap. But it's fabulous. I recommend the foie gras three ways for a great app.

Who is your cousin(s) because the chef at each La Boca and the now closed Rio Mar are two different people?
