Anybody have any good recommendations for a receiver for around $300? I would want it to have two zones so I could put a couple speakers on my patio.

go to the $400 range and you can get a nice little Denon unit. 5.1 with multiple zones, wifi, etc..

Yamaha RX-V673/675/677 gets near that price on sale.

7.1, dual zones, video upsampling, networking, etc.

i'd be ok with this even if he had a couple off games and was only around 200 in those.

guys, we can't discuss pay4play here. That's what the back channels are for.

Refurb Denon AVR-X2000

I would just look at this website. Best bang for the buck and is certified.

Under 300
Denon AVR X1000

I like the sound quality and Audyssey on the Denon over Onkyo but that is just preference. Not a fan of Yamaha

Get an integrated amplifier instead. The rated power will be lower for the price, but it'll sound better.

Yeah forgot they did. However, it seems they opt for more hdmi ports instead of higher versions of audyssey.
