Dark Tower is an amazing series with an extremely disappointing ending.

This. And the continuity errors really annoyed me. But I did enjoy the ride.

To be fair, Stephen King does warn the reader to stop after a certain point in the final book.

I recently finished Mistborn, loved the series. Admittedly, I haven't read Dark Tower.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Spoilers....

Crimson King being a little bitch and throwing hand grenades? When I closed the book I wanted to slap Mr. King.

It was a cop out by King. I think he wrote himself into a corner and the only way he could see out of it was by insulting the reader just because they wanted an ending to the story.

Kinda this. It seems like every other book of Dark Tower is good. There was a whole lot of filler in there.

As for Mistborne, good, but also a disappointing ending (to the first trilogy).

Skip Mistborn and read The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance by Sanderson. They are the beginnings of his opus, and they are epic and amazing. He should stop fricking about with the other stuff and just write the Stormlight Archive series. 10 books will keep him busy for a LONG time.

I have no problem with the ending. Not sure any ending would have pleased many people. I do see why the ending would bug many, but I found it to be quite the optimistic ending for a guy who was just demolished by a car.

To me, 1-4 were great with the wasteland being the best. He went a bit off track after that, but as was mentioned, his style changed after the accident. Sad as it is to say, the drunken, coked up King was a better (or more entertaining) author.

I'm about 1/2 way through the way of the kings and still don't know what the plot is. Is there a big baddy or is this more of a game of thrones type series where no real bad guy just bunch of characters and their stories?

I'm halfway through the second mistborn. I started it after reading about it on here.

Had the costume fit our theme I would have gone as a Steel Inquisitor for Halloween.

I've started Dark Tower twice and it never pulled me in enough. It's good, but I don't think I've made it past Book 3.

Mistborn, I finished in something like 2 months. Maybe 3.

It's just more exciting. It depends what you're in the mood for.

Without question Dark Tower. I hated Mistborn. I read a lot of fantasy, usually multiple times. I do not like Brandon Sanderson's writing style at all. Dark Tower is all kinds of awesome.

If you mean the part after he told you to stop reading, he did warn you. I love the ending. I find others hate endings I love and vice versa. Battlestar Galactica, for example. I love the ending, it is one of my favorites, but most people seem to hate it for some reason I cannot fathom.
