1st weekend of august 2014 fishing reports

i caught a bass. it was about 3/4 of a pound, maybe a pound. caught it trolling at about 1-2 knot with a zebco and a little chartreuse panfish plastic with twirl tail. jumped 3 times. line broke as i was lifting him into the boat, but managed to land her. total fight was about 2 minutes. this was in michigan.

Ran outta Fourchon, (2) 40lb cobia and a couple king macs. Had 3 Ajs at the boat and all popped liters.

Fished backside of grand isle this afternoon . 37 specks 4 reds in about 3 hrs.

Fished for about a hour this after noon and this is better than what I managed today

Took my nephew fishing, caught 14 white bass and 3 bass. Nothing huge but they were pretty solid on average.

IFA in Lafitte - Caught about 20-25 reds, didn't catch the right two and finished around 30th out of about 80 boats.
Winners ran to Venice, river finnally got right at the end of last week. We didn't even get a chance to scout there

It took 16.34 to finish 10th and cut a check,
over 18 won it.
Not sure if you know the person in the YF, but if you do, let him know that his driving made a few enemies on Saturday. I was not there and don't know all the details, but some of the others that went to Dularge were pretty upset. To the point where if he would have cut a check there would have been an official protest filed. I'm just the messenger.

i fished there every weekend until they made it where you have to have a pass to fish there.

Sta- caught 11, got run in by the storms, got my limit for the day the 2nd time I went out.
Sun- caught 11, then the cats moved in, quit at 10ish.
Caught and released 4 gulls too.

I didnt know them, but they were hammered drunk by 730 pm when we were launching and they were picking up.
I cant imaging pulling that 100K boat down grave road for 4 miles....

they permit thing sucks, but i has made the bass fishing alot better.(bigger)
