If so how much cheaper is it to get it there compared to other gas stations around town?

Depends. If you're the type that doesn't know where the cheap places for gas are, you can save about $0.20 or so a gallon. If you're like me and pay attention to where the cheap stations are, you only save about $0.06/gallon.

If you use it as your primary source for getting gas the savings will probably cover the cost of your membership. That's about it.

Regular gas is currently $3.16 and Premium is $3.40. It is consistently lower than surrounding gas stations. They recently were also certified as a top tier fuel station. I believe the fuel comes from Marathon across the river and they add detergent on site. They also have an attendant working keeping it clean and pumping gas for people that need help.

Yeah, gas at racetrac was 3.18 last I saw

If you "shop" for gas, sams and Costco aren't gonna save you much at all

If you go to Exxon and shell constantly, it's probably a decent savings

Do the costco gas pumps take visa?

My Visa card gets me 5% cash back so I may be better off at racetrac anyway

In B'ham, it's about .15 cheaper than most places near the CostCo store. If you fill up once a week on a 15-gallon vehicle, you'll save $2.25 each week and thus about $100 a year on gas. As someone said already, that pretty much just pays for your yearly CostCo membership and unless you are meticulous in your financial documentation, you'll never really notice that you're saving money.

Though I do know someone who is pretty much OCD when it comes to keeping up with his money. He lives on a strict budget so much so that I wonder if he's thinking about it every hour of the day. But as he explained to me once on a long car ride, he's saving a little over $1500 a year compared to a few years ago when he didn't care about saving a dollar here or there.

It takes Visa debt. They accept any debit and American Express. If you have the Costco American Express I think you get a 3% off gas.

when we joined Costco the big selling point was that their gas would be .15 cheaper than anyone else within 5 miles. Only bought there once - less than 1 mile away was 3 cents cheaper than Costco. Called to speak to the manager - he did not care. Said that their price was set by the company and they could not change it.

Last time I shopped at Costco though.

If you get their Amex, you can save an additional 3-4%.

I only get gas at Costco if I was shopping there. Nearest Costco is like 15 minutes away so not convenient. But yes...gas there is a lil cheaper.

Just checked...gas near my house $3.64....Costco $3.56
