re: Anyone here work for IBM? - MamouTiger65
I haven't heard anything great about working there. $70K right out of college is probably too high. I'd say more likely in the $50-$60K range. Developer salaries really start to rise around year 5. ...

Accused Somali war criminal found working as DC airport security guard - MamouTiger65
A Somali man accused of leading mass executions and torturing people during the country’s bloody civil war in the 1980s has been quietly working as a security guard at a Washington, D.C., airport for the past six years – all while passing FBI and TSA checks. re: AT&T Gigapower - MamouTiger65
I called in and was told it was $135 a month for 1 Gbps without discount. If you consent to them storing all of your search terms and history they drop it to $105. Seems steep, wish I got the max speeds that I should be getting now....

AT&T Gigapower - MamouTiger65
Just got an email from AT&T that Gigapower is now available in my neighborhood. Anyone here have it? Any idea on the cost or if the speeds are reliably fast? Currently have their highest tier and its painfully slow. Was considering switching when my promotional period was up....

re: New Zealand - MamouTiger65
There are some caves that you can climb down into or repel into then canoe in the cave lit by glow worms. Lots of beaches including a few black sand beaches. There are some places in Rotorua where you can do something similar to a luau, but with the Maori. They have some hot springs you can s...

re: Obtaining a Visa for China Questions - MamouTiger65
I'm no longer with that company, so I don't have the name of the person we used. You can Google visa agents in Houston and find several companies that do this for you. You mail them your passport and the fee and then they mail it all back to you. Talked to a friend that also travelled there, he d...

re: How much would each of these programming / coding certs cost? - MamouTiger65
Microsoft Certs are generally around $125. Study material is probably another couple hundred. Depending on the ones your pursue, some will combine to make you eligible for a higher level cert. Those tend to be pricier but carry a little more weight. Certs will make you more marketable to a consultin...

re: Considering cruising the Nile - MamouTiger65
Yeah, I'd highly recommend a tour. They will help you avoid scams and can line up site tours for you ahead of time. I used three separate companies while there. Don't be shocked if you get an armed bodyguard as part of your tour. I had one of those in Sharm el sheikh and that was pre-Arab Spring...

re: Considering cruising the Nile - MamouTiger65
I did one as a larger tour of Egypt. We flew down to Abu Simbel which was as interesting as the Pyramids, then we got on a cruise ship from Aswan to Luxor. It was a good cruise with lots of stops along the way. From there you can catch a train back up to Cairo. ...
