I imagine Kreis is the closest we got.

Perhaps we will one day have a Louisiana born World Cup manager though.

He lived there for most of his childhood. He was discovered in Louisiana.

That's fine. No one calls Shaq a New Jersey product. Kreis played his travel ball with a team from Baton Rouge and his high school ball in the Northshore, I believe.

He is the best player the state has ever produced.
