We caught our limit of reds all 3 days, a smattering of mangroves and one cobia each day. We had a very low success rate on the cobia We also had a nice king on Friday. Sharks galore, including one big hammerhead.

It was a good weekend, but the staggered seasons are getting tough. When you can keep red snapper, half the other fish in the ocean are off-limits.

Friday we caught a limit of Snapper, a 60lb Warsaw and a bunch of mangroves with Tounces. it was an awesome day:

Saturday, caught a bunch of trout and had one real nice 4.6 lb trout (24"). I won this little tournament we were fishing.

Sunday, got another limit of Snapper with Toonces along with some Mangroves:

Much thanks to the Toonces family for showing us a great time offshore.

Not much luck out in the blue water. Tons of grass out there kept fouling the lures. One dolphin and a bunch of barracuda. Limits of snapper on the way in, one ling, one small grouper and lots of AJ catch and release.

Worked on stuff most of the weekend then talked my brother into going fishing in the yaks in the Basin(his first time). Within the first 15 minutes he managed to flip over while paddling, still not 100% certain how he did that. Lost the anchor, set of pliers, and a couple rod/reels. Rest of the trip was spend paddling around and fishing a couple random spots but nothing to show for it.

I know it's a little too late, but I put floats on all my rods before heading out in the yak.

There were boats on every freaking rig we wanted to fish at. We managed to stop at one and pick up 5 reds and a mangrove. One of the snapper I cut open was full of lettuce

Didn't you say you drive a silver F250? Pretty sure I saw you leaving while I was paddling back to the launch. Silver F250 with 2 yaks in the back.

Caught a few very small bream and one 12 inch bass. Water in the basin was ugly.

definitely so. 4 years ago you could dive all day and not see one. Now, I could kill anywhere from 10-100 on any platform

Not bad arse!

they are invasive and a threat to our native species on the reefs! They have no natural predators here. Hopefully the grouper start taking care of them

they are the GoM's version of hogs. KILL THEM ALL!
