Wife's kids at summer camp found this by their ball today (GDCK)

Apparently a few first graders were throwing a football and it landed by this guy. After seeing this, the kid ran up to my wife and mentioned that a snake was holding his football. And this is what she comes across.

Too thick to be a corn snake. It might be a copperhead that's really old or faded because it's about to shed.

This. The majority of snakes I' ve caught in my life were Diamond-backs. Of course, every neighbor who saw one saw a Cottonmouth.

The kid who told her seemed very aware of the danger of snakes. He was calm and collected, and just told her that there was a snake that looked dangerous.

I guess you can never train them too young.
