Alton Brown, the meticulous, intense and slightly offbeat TV food personality, will bring his "Alton Brown Live! The Edible Tour" to the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans on Oct. 24. Tickets (ranging from $39.75-$99.75) will go on sale Friday (June 6) at the Saenger box office,

Friend of mine in another state went to his show and loved it.

Do you think Guy will open for him ?

You could complain after, and get free ice cream.

This guy can sell out the Saenger? Didn't realize he still had fans.

Seriously, what does a live cooking show at the Saenger (for $40-$100) offer that one on TV doesn't? I'm assuming that since it's such large a venue he won't be sampling his food.

I was a fan of Good Eats, his gimmicky game show contests are crap. My wife bought tickets before she asked me.

Good Eats was great, you could tell how much preparation he put into it

Does the audience get to eat some food?

I thought they didn't go on sale until Friday.

I saw Anthony Bourdain speak when he came thru New Orleans a few years back, had a great time. This doesn't sound like that kind of show, but I might give it a shot. Alton's more of a character now, but I've usually always dug him. Good Eats was the show that first ever got me into cooking. He made things so accessible.

Like others said...I love Good Eats...That and Emeril Legassi got me into cooking when I was around 18.

I didn't say she bought them for the show in NO, there are other cities on the tour.

A few days after my Birthday. I want to go to this.
As everyone said, Good Eats is what got me to start learning to cook.

He was a character during Good Eats as well, this isn't new.
Some of the early episodes make me cringe but I still really like him.
