This board uses Nolan because of the additional sortable rankings and frequent updates, but I've always prefered waking in the morning to the 6:30am Boyd's world update. Can't wait to see which is more close to the official. Either way, getting into the top 9 when battling for an 8-seed was

Warren Nolan

Boyd's world

Texas losing twice Saturday jump a spot before the day ended. This was HUGE because the committee and pundits got to sleep on the fact that LSU was RPI #9.

Sunday wasn't as good: Houston, Rice, and TCU all won their finals causing a bump for al Texas teams. After beating Florida we were able to jump Houston and stay far-enough ahead of TCU.

Don't we have to be top 8?

No, we don't even have to be top 100, really.

.0006 perc points behind rice...should easily hop them and be 9 or 8 with a win Sunday

Rice has an "if neccessary" game in an hour.

OSU just came back to take the lead on Texas (rpi #8) in the 8th inning LINK

Should we be rooting for Texas to lose to Oklahoma State?

I'm not sure.

Go oklahoma st

We may hop rice AND Texas if OSU wins

We could potentially be RPI #8 before first pitch tomorrow

Yeah but it really doesn't matter too much. Most don't think Texas has a chance at a national seed so it would just allow us to possibly jump them and get a higher ranked RPI.

It would just look better if on our resume we were top8 in the RPI, which a Texas loss (and LSU win of course) could potentially vault us into

Of course top8 doesn't guarantee a thing...the decision is gonna come down to committee and LSU/rice/OleMiss/CalPoly/Miami

I feel strongly that one of the two "up for grabs" national seeds is going to OSU/TCU/Big12 and the other national seed is what LSU/rice/etc is fighting for

Also, hurts the Texas schools who have inflated RPI's by playing each other. RPI rates it the same if you take go across country or 30mins down the road.

OSU scored again in the 8th. 3-1 lead.

They finished 5th in a conference with 9 teams. No shot.

We're a 10, but Vandy is at #7. So really in terms of a super regional, we are #9.

He's just saying you can kinda cross vandy out. They aren't getting a national seed. So even though they're technically #7 RPI, put a line through them.

I think he is saying that if Vandy & Texas have no shot at a national seed, LSU is then the #8 team in terms of RPI amongst the national seed contenders.
