Does a UVA loss help us?

I'm thinking uf would move to RPI #1... Then we would have a W over them if we take care of business tomorrow

I would think that would give us a boost, but please correct me if I'm wrong

Update on their game...

UVA 4
FSU 5

Bottom 8... Man on 1st & 2nd, no outs (UVA's closer came in to start the inning)

And are we going for TCU tomorrow, assuming they wont jump us in RPI even if they win?

I'm going for OSU tomorrow as they have lower RPI and will jump Cal Poly with the win.

UVA won't drop much as they're playing PRI #4 team at neutral field.

good question. Okie St would definitely get in over TCU though. Winning the outright and plus a possible tournament title in the 2nd best conference gets you there, IMO

so TCU wins Ok State and TCU get national seeds

or is Adam wrong and OkState didn't lock their national seed tonight?

What I have been hearing is that there are two open spots for national seeds

7 OK State/TCU
8 Rice/LSU

can we assume that Ok State will get a national seed even if they lose tomorrow?

Let's say

TCU wins
LSU wins
Rice wins

if Ok State gets national seed 7 who get's #8

Note: we should pull for OSU we need to put out of the Committees mind 2 big 12 hosts TCU losing will help that.

We want Okie State to win, that's the team everyone wants to give a national seed to. TCU has been quiet but if they win they'll get it over OSU.

TCU/OkieSt are playing for 1 nat. seed

LSU win gets us the other
LSU loss + Rice win Rice gets it
Both LSU & Rice lose Ole Miss back doors in

I'm sure only one big 12 will get a national seed but I don't think that is a lock. I think there is a possibly for TCU and Ok State to both get national seeds. Ok States RPI hurts their chances if they lose but as many have said winning the #2 conference gives them a chance to be a national seed.

Our national seed chances will come down to assuming we win comes down to Rice losing or hoping that the committee doesn't focus to much on our weak SOS.

Rice's biggest advantage over us is that they have a very strong SOS.

Big 12 has had a good year but not good enough for them to get 2 national seeds at the expense of the 2nd national seed for the SEC.

Factor in that they are one of the conferences that doesnt have a committee tie in.

Its not like they have Weiser there to slip in their 9th place team like 09.

I hate to say it but it isn't that simple

If TCU wins an interesting scenario arises.

Ok State will have a Low teens RPI, while that would appear to knock them out of contention of a national seed winning the big 12 is huge, we have seen how much importance the committee in the past has put on conference resume

Rice I know we all think that if we win there is no way they get a seed over us. I'm not so sure, they have a big advantage over us in SOS, RPI will be Neck and Neck and we have a slight advantage of a better record vs top 50 RPI. If the Committee looks to much at our SOS they could give it to rice over us. Location isn't an issue here either, either Louisiana or Texas will have two national seeds.

I'm sticking by what I'm saying

LSU needs to win
Rice needs to lose
or hope that the committee doesn't hit us to hard on the Strength of Schedule issue.
