Saw a new building going up on Vets that looked like a big restaurant with a second story patio. Anyone know what it is? I think it was across Vets from Chilis or near that area.

I believe this is correct. Someone a while back posted a link to the permit and I think it was this location.

4101 Veterans in Metairie: Bobby Hebert's Cajun Cannon restaurant

the blueprints

This renovation is replacing a Mexican restaurant..........in a previous life it was Carmine's.

That's the one I was wondering about.

So the Bobby Hebert restaurant is going in the lot where Carmine's was?

And what's going in the building next to Cane's?

I know World of Beer is like a bar/restaurant set up but will they sell some of their beers to where you could buy them and take them home?

I'm not sure and would guess it would depend on their license. I sure hope they do.

There was a murder in that building at some point. Not sure if it was when it was a Carmine's or before that. Similarly, there was a murder at the Red Lobster in BR (not sure if it's still there).

Does that kind of thing affect your likelihood of going to a place?

That doesn't affect whether I dine there or not, but the food quality certainly does. And the building was completely torn down FWIW.

There was a murder IN TJ Ribs, and that still does ok.

I hear Bobby's got Lester Earl slated to be his GM there.

The real question is, is the restaurant actually going to be called the Cajun Cannon?

I just hope it doesn't look like the eyesore that is the Cheesecake Factory at Lakeside Mall.

They really screwed up my parking for fine food court lunch dining.

As far as I can tell, it will be called the Cajun Cannon.

I'm wondering if WWL Radio will charge Bobby for live remote broadcasts from his restaurant -- like they do with any other business. And..........will Tom Fitzmorris ever do an Eat Club dinner at the Cajun Cannon?
