Kind of a spin off of the link about the weirdest things seen in the outdoors. In that thread there was a link to an outdoors sight in the Pacific NW. Out west there are huge areas of land that are remote, very few residents, towns, roads, etc.

It got me wonderind, what would be considered the largest remote area in Louisiana?

If you draw a line from Texas to Oakdale and north through Alexandria to 20, basically all west of that line is barren. Not much anything to see except pine trees and Toledo Bend.

Certain parts of the basin haven't seen anyone for a long time, but Maurepas WMA can get much more lonely. You could also add Pearl River WMA to that list

Biloxi Marsh

idk about this one. lots of people fish and hunt there, and most importantly it's easily accessible by boat. walking is the biggest impediment to travel for today's sportsmen.

For sure. Nice out there once the river goes down and the gulf gets calm in September.

IMHO, the only equal places in terms of being exhausted walking is in the palmettos in and around Thistlewaithe, and through the briars of Pearl River. Most of Joyce is accessible by boat
