Alright guys here's the deal. I recently went to a cuban restaurant and they have the best coffee. I asked the worker what kind of coffee it is and where can you get it from. He told me the name, which i forgot, but he said that the owner goes somewhere in New Orleans to get it. So my question is, is there a cuban place in New Orleans that sells authentic coffee? Please direct me to this place

TIA

Where in NO?

Will be interesting to see if anyone comes up with a name. The problem is, there are several importers and roasters and it may not actually be Cuban coffee, just what (the blend) the owner liked.

Most Cuban joints in Tampa serve Pilon, Bustelo or Cubita. All of which can be found online..

Personally, I prefer the Bustelo.. Cubita can be a bit tricky...

I'll try this a different way...Was the coffee in question done a traditional "drip" way, and you are looking for the beans...Or was this done Cuban Coffee style (SWEEEEET Espresso)

You need to get back in touch with the restaurant..

Not trying to be completely useless, but the blend could be restaurant specific, or just whatever the roaster has marked "cuban"

Cafe Bustelo is sold all over the place nowadays. Winn Dixie, Rouse's, etc. You can even get the little "sock" at some stores...you boil the grounds with water, then pour it through a sock-like cloth filter.

Montecristo, the cigar maker, also makes coffee. I drink their Havana 1935 blend, it's the best coffee I've had. You can buy the beans from JR Cigar.
