WTF, is this some kind of new phenomenon? This seems like a great excuse for female bonding and for guys to be out doing guy things.
I'm scheduled to go to a couples baby shower tomorrow, I'm thinking of skipping.

That's when you cut the grass and do other crap around the house. I've been to one or two, but both were for my wife or sister. They were more like a family dinner and then some gifts though.

It is. Women do something inside (I have no idea what, nor do I care) while the men drink, smoke cigars, watch tv, play poker, bullshite, etc. outside.
