Guys, looking at getting a tractor for the land. Looking at the 85 - 115 hp in cab tractors to used around the ranch for hay and other crap. who makes the best one for the money?
my favorite right now is the JD 6105D.
Help me out.

Since I make a great deal of money from JD, I will say them. But I really have no input other than that.

Nope, they are an extremely good customer of mine.
Been to their HQ's many times and will be going back up there before long.

You can't go wrong with the 6105d it's a solid tractor. I have Ferguson and John deere and just unloaded a MCcormick. The john deere's have been more reliable than the Ferguson. The mccormick was a total lemon. If i had to chose right now with the new tractors out there I would seriously look at the New Holland T5 series cause getting parts for the John Deeres has gotten to be a hassle. They have every part for a damn lawn mower you need but don't stock crap for tractor parts but that may just be a regional thing. I have actually had to go to the New Holland place to get a rim for one of my John Deeres

we use a kubota m105X 4x4 with a front end loader and have zero complaints.

How so they compare with price to the JD?

I have run all of those brands in that HP range
john deere bar none.
the case seemed very underpowered and we were always working on it.
JD all the way IMO

No idea how Case matches up tractor to tractor but I worked as a diesel mechanic for a while at one of the plants on the river and the piece of shite CASE we had was always broken down. By far the least efficient in my opinion. I like JD heavy machinery. It is easy to work on. We had 2 JD 450Hs and 2 JD 450Js. All ran like champs. We also had alot of Cat equipment which was great but parts were expnsive.

over the years ive had 4 tractors, 3 dozers, 2 backhoes, and 3 excavators. cat and jd stood over all. kubota tractor i had was a pita which im told and have seen is unusual

cat is very nice. repairs are expensive and generally they are heavier than the JD. that's why dad chose the JD backhoe over the cat. but yea it's good equipment

Friend of mine who is a hard core Deere man just bought a 350hp Versatile and loves it. Says it pretty much like a Deere except that it doesn't have all the fluff. Problem is I think the smallest Versatile you can get is 190hp.

Oh, and the Versatile is a lot less expensive.

In that horsepower range, Deere all the way. Driven a 6400, 7400, 7610, and own a 6410. Have driven New Hollands equivalent to the 6100 and its not a contest. Have only driven Cases 7110 and 8910- TONS of power from the 8.3 and fairly reliable but the Deere is still the nicer piece. I have never driven a Kubota in that hp range.
The 6410 has 2600 hours on it and so far its needed new injectors and a PTO module (holy $$$$). Been haying with it every summer since '98. The little turbo is tough on the oil (changing every 150 hours). I'd rather have the 7400 with the 6 cylinder, but you take what you can get.

agree completely...for a smaller tractor I would do the kubota, but anything larger on my place would be nothing but green...

Nothing is as comfortable to work all day as a john deere

I've never experienced autosteer.
I do know that a syncshuttle cab and air deere is pretty much as good as it gets.
