I haven't since early high school nor would I now. In the early nineties we had a large die off and gobbling birds were hard, hard to come by it seemed. Luckily, since about 94 all the places I have access to have rebounded back to the late 80's populations...

I've killed a many in a torrential downpour, I'm just too lazy to get wet. Might make a quick loop between showers if the radar shows a possibility. The good is that at least you will be able to slip around quietly sunday if you go...

i have hunted all over the damn parish and you are correct, it seems to vary. I have never hunted a place like I'm at now though, no chaising, no grunting no nothing. If I had to guess, id say 4:1. Not from lack of shooting does, we kill 12-14 deer a yr and 8-11 are does. 3 of us on 700 acres, only wknd hunters. don't know the temp, but duck hunting in a pit blind in NE Arkansas, water in blind turned to slush like and ice and field started freezing over quickly. Finally talked my FIL to bail....
