What's your go-to and what is your once in a blue moon?
Mine is The Balvenie. I'd like to try Johnny Walker Platinum.

Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 and Macallan 12 are the two I always keep at home.

Oban 14 and balvenie 14 are two of my mainstays. Macallan 18 and Balvenie 17 doublewood are the two special occasion Scotch that come to mind.

Amberlour 12 year. One of the best basic scotches I've tasted.
It's about $50

Tomatin 12 year is a very, very solid, reasonably priced single malt.
A little sweeter finish than others (sherry casks), and less peaty, but a great scotch.

Pretty good list. Right now, my everyday scotches are Dalmore & Glemmorangine. I go through phases. Abelour a'bunadh is great, but I sometimes have a hard time finding it. Balvienes get thrown into the rotation as does Glenkinche .
The platinum isn't anything special. JW quit selling the green in the US and replaced it with platinum.
