Jeez. Every week a new story. This kid will now grow up without a father. A father who was on his way to work to provide for his 5 kids.

Imagine the tragedy of a kid who's father can't post a link correctly on a message board.

Too much $$ spent of treating symptoms instead of the cause

Because other than New Orleans, there is scarce public transportation and even taxis can be a bitch to hire. I tried to line one up New Year's Eve and it was going to be almost $40 from a friend's house back to mine, plus no guarantee on arrival time.

Because the laws are so soft and also have all these attorneys who specialize in fighting dui's and can get almost all the charges dropped every time as long as they are paid enough, pretty sad to think about.

But of course drunk drivers are not criminals, they just make mistakes like everyone else.

I was wondering that this weekend after anothe 2 died in Broussard. Truck and a Camry have a wreck at 3:00 am. Evidently both are drunk because they both leave. Witness called the cops. Camry has another wreck just down Hwy 90 and both in the Camry die.

Lack of public transportation mixed with a culture rooted in alcohol consumption

Pretty much the answer. Low class folk do stupid stuff, and Louisiana has a lot of them

Oh, yea, blame it on the laws and lawyers. It has nothing to do with lack of public transportation, largely de-centralized city structures, and a culture that prides itself on drinking.

Naw. Who am I kidding. It's the laws and the lawyers.
