If Luke has these great Jedi powers, then why is he dragging his near dead dad?

Can't he just levitate him around the soon to be destroyed Death Star?

Lucas really cheapened the films the more moved he along in the series by adding characters like the Ewoks, Jar-Jar, etc, and handing them them key roles in the movies.

I'm no star wars geek...but isnt there some caveat where Jedi arent supposed to let emotion take over?

Think about it..he was basically an amateur Jedi.

Finding your dying father would be very emotional.

I dont think a Jedi was dragging Darth Vader out of the death star...a son was dragging Anakin Skywalker out of the Death Star.

An amateur Jedi that did what no other Jedi could do: Defeat Vader.

..but I get your point.

However, if I'm in that situation, I'm getting him out as fast as possible. Why not have the dying Anakin scene on Endor?

Endor was the moon where the shield generator was located...

And, another thing..

What good does the an immobile Death Star perform?

OH shite! The Empire built a new Death Star with a shield generator protecting it from a nearby planet!

You know, if the Rebellion was smart, they would just avoid it. It isn't going anywhere.

However, they attacked it because the Emperor was overseeing the final construction.

Two birds, one stone..

Wasn't it able to destroy planets?

If so..it doesnt matter if its immobile.

They also thought it wasn't fully operational

The original one could fly around and blow shite up.

The new one was basically immobile because the shield generators protecting it were on the adjacent planet.

Yes, if this weren't a complete hack of a movie. I mean it's literally A New Hope remade.

I would guess that the idea was that it needed the shield generator while it was under construction and relatively exposed.

The #1 plot flaw in ROTJ.

Why build a Death Star that is only protected my orbiting a moon?

that was when the Death Star was at its weakest point. or so they thought. Didn't know it was able to blow up ships.

6 bugs me a little. fricking Ewoks...

If Lucas didn't sell out in the early 80s and again in the 90s and 200sto appeal to the masses then the series would be much more valuable today.

Im turned off until I see a trailer. Any hint of juvenile BS then im out.

they have to build it somewhere.. and protect it during its construction.... don't know why y'all see this as an issue.

This is not an issue? Really?

In ANH you need a "miracle" shot, flying close to the surface of the DS. It took a "leap of force" to hit the hole. All the tech guidance missed every time.

Then you have ROTJ. A DS protected by a shield that had to be constructed on a moon near the DS. Shield down, ships fly right into it's reactor core. LMAO. So fricking silly.

They were protecting it from an attack by the entire rebel fleet so they used endor which consisted of a population of ewoks to house their field generator.

Luke gave himself up so the mission on endor could be completed plus he wanted to save his dad.

The original Death Star was fully functional but as we all saw it was vulnerable to attack by smaller ships.

The real question that has to be asked is how did the emperior not see the deception by vadar.

It was only being protected by the shield on Endor because it wasn't completed (I figured that was obvious by the fact that half of it was missing). The emperor tricked the rebels into thinking it wasn't operational, but it was. It could fire it's main weapon on the bigger ships, but it still wasn't complete. Once it was completed, it would've been like the original Death Star.

Two reasons.

1. If it's operational enough to power it's planet-killing death ray, why didn't they just put the shield generator on the Death Star?

2. The generator was apparently a giant satellite dish. All the rebels had to do was nuke it from space. Hell, even just kamikazing a couple of ships at it would have been easier than the plan they came up with (and they wouldn't have needed the Hairy Midget Brigade either).

These are two simple, common-sense things that anyone thinking the situation out beyond "oooooo! Merchandising" would have understood.
