I picked this up at my rouses on sale for $3. I'm thinking just toss it in a skillet with EVOO, garlic, salt, pepper then tossing it in some pasta. It's clams, mussels, squid, shrimp, etc. What would you do ?

Also have access to some frozen okra if needed.

That's how to start a Friday!

Perhaps make an IPA reduction and serve over the top.

You toss that in the trash or you'll be strapped to the toilet for most of Mardi Gras. Those are "fresh" clams and mussels I see? Plastic sealed? No oxygen? On sale?

I'm always leary of prepackaged seafood, but it's sounds like you've already got a good plan for it. I'm not really sure how else you would prepare it other than in a skillet.

Those packages are found at Asian marts as well, and everything should already be cooked. Sometimes it's best to just dump it into some stock/soup.

don't clams and mussels pop open when they're cooked? Those are closed from what I can tell.

I can't speak for that particular package, but the shells we're seeing may be half shells, because I'm seeing various loose shellfish in it too.

Pick up a few more packages and you've got Lent covered.

Some white wine and butter wouldn't hurt that at all.

I have seen stuff like that and always wondered who in the hell would buy it?

It's already cooked. That's why I asked how to prepare it. But you are right. Maybe I should wait til after Mardi Gras.

Not home at the moment so I'm not sure. I know I looked when I bought it but since it's not LA type seafood I just threw it in the basket for $3. I really should make a list when I make groceries. I think I just went in for beer and a came out with misc crap. Got to stop shopping drunk.

Maybe I'll make a pho

If that package of seafood was just 3 bucks, my antennae would have been jumping all over the place.

I don't know that I've ever been in a store and stuck to a list or just what I needed even on a short trip in. I always see something that I just must pick up and bring home with me so it can sit among it's other never to be used friends in the pantry or fridge.

My gmaw would buy dog food just because it's on sale or had a coupon. She didn't even have a dog. Maybe that's why I bought this seafood.
