The Wire or Sopranos

The Wire, but I haven't seen all the Sopranos yet.

The Wire. One if the most enthraling and deep television series of all time. In my mind the GOAT.

I love both of these shows a ton.

However, I say the Wire and it's not even close because of the enormous breadth and span of that show. Over 300 characters and more story lines than you can count. Not to mention the layers that are added each season.

It's a phenomenal commentary on the dark and flawed side of the American Dream, the way that the institutions we created now control us.

"We like them little bitches on the chess board yo."

I would have to say Sopranos. You end up feeling like part of the family, and you find yourself hurting internally when certain things are done in the show. I have never felt such an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach as I did after the final episode. Felt like I lost my family, that being said, I'm Italian and my family is from Jersey City.

You can't go wrong with the Wire. I would put both of these shows ahead of anything else in the history of television, Breaking Bad included.

It is actually pretty damn close, but I give the slight edge to The Wire. (GoT is creeping towards the top for me though)

Better yet if you ever ask the question "The Wire or __________________". Go with the Wire.

The Sopranos by a hundred miles.

I'd go with The Wire. Both shows are amazing though in their own right. The Sopranos has the better cast performances, but The Wire has the more engrossing storyline.
