I actually think it's pretty damn badass how they are shoe-horning that thing in there.

However, although I don't give two shits about the NIMBYs around there, I remain curiously skeptical to see what sort of nightmare ingress and egress of 30,000 people will look like in that space (both from a parking and even getting people on foot in and out of there perspective), if they really happen to actually draw that sort of crowd.

Unless there is vacant land near by that is not included in those shots, parking for that place is going to be a nightmare.

Looks like they are throwing that thing up in the middle of a neighborhood. What a mistake.

Damn.

I think they are hoping for a large walking and streetcar crowd. If there was any excitement around that team, that could make a very cool gameday atmosphere.

Tulane baseball draws a lot of people from around the area who want to go catch games. Football will do the same. People will be more inclined to enjoy a nice Saturday uptown than in an empty Dome

Parking for that is a nightmare for the odd game when they happen to draw 4,000 or so people.

I'm just glad the campus, and therefore the stadium, abuts Claiborne. I moved away from Uptown because going between any two points south of Claiborne makes me want to shoot every driver of a motor vehicle.

would it be at all possible for Tulane to eventually buy the houses surrounding the area?

or could they go hardcore a-hole on the neighborhood and use eminent domain?

It is going to be a bonkers game day atmosphere

and the concerns about parking is bullshite.

1. you can walk anywhere uptown.

2. streetcar

3. bike

4. park about 6 blocks away and walk

5. my friend lives right there on palmer, so I have good parking

Parking will be interesting when ULL comes for their bowl game or if Brother Martin plays Jesuit there.

They are going to shuttle people from the Superdome. No lie

It's crazy to think how on just a slightly bigger footprint, in basically the same spot, they once had an 80,000 seat stadium that hosted an NFL team, multiple superbowls, and a yearly sugar bowl.
