Ok, guys. I'm hoping you can help me out. I want a business class round trip ticket to Chiang Mai, Thailand from Birmingham, AL.

I have about 6 months till I want to go so I need to get started. I spend about $5,000 per month on the credit card (work expenses).

I've used the Chase Saphire and Chase Ink in the past year so I can't do that again.

I've hit one of the Delta cards but am unsure if I can hit it again.

Any thoughts?

I thought the same thing when I first got in to this hobby. I went from a chase freedom card with $5k limit and my only non store card to $100k in available credit in 6 months.

What kind of limits do you have on your various cards? How are you getting to $100k?

It's not that hard. I signed my wife up for 2 cards in the last few months (US Air and IHG) and she got $36k in limit from those alone.

you can hit the delta business version if you have not done that already. Delta has flights for 140,000 SM in September BHM-CNX

You wont sniff that without already having a stockpile of skymiles

These should work nicely

Cards I used for my RT to Bangkok all in business that I'm taking this year:

Chase Freedom (10,000)
Chase Sapphire Preferred (40,000)
Chase Ink Bold (no longer offered, 60,000)
Chase Ink Plus (your house rental thing you do is a business, so you should definitely apply, 50,000)
Chase United (50,000)

I also had a fiancée (now wife) that I could apply for these same cards and group them all up.

Gave me more than enough but I burned some going to weddings, Cedar Point, stuff like that

Looks like they terminated the US air card application page.

Never mind, thanks. I went through 7 or 8 links that all said offer no longer available. Must have just been old links.

For all you reward hounds, do you manage your CCs by paying the entire balance down or carrying a balance each month? If it's the former, do you do it in one installment or multiple throughout the month? I've been putting all my usual expenses on a CC for the last few months. It's the first time I've experimented with it and I've definitely noticed my AAmileage balance going up. That said, that large number always seems to feel bigger than it should at the end of the month despite it being my normal monthly expenses.

Rewards game doesn't work if you pay interest. I only do about 1500-2k a month but keep statement balance set on autopay on all of them so I don't pay interest and don't have to remember due dates.

Sometimes a balance remains due to recent charges after bill cycle ends but that doesn't accrue any interest

Statement balance paid in full every month. No interest.

I check the balances on all the cards in my Money Clip at the beginning of each month.

Everything goes on my Amex unless they don't accept Amex. Then it goes on one of my rotating visa/matercards.

You should never own a credit card if you don't pay off the entire balance each month

I do, in full, I was just curious how others do it. I prefer a few smaller payments vs loading my CC up all month and then feeling like the $amount is huge.

I generally pay in full the day before the account closes.

If you're bad with money I suggest prepaying your cc with your preset budgeted amount for that month. That way it will look more like a debit card balance

Has anybody checked out the new Wyndham rewards chart rolling out next month? 15k points for any property.

It has me debating on getting the 45k point card for my wife and I and having 6 nights at any Wyndham property between the two of us. Unfortunately, I'm just not seeing any property that just has me real excited. They have a few Hawaii properties, but they all appear to be "just off the beach". I don't have a huge desire to go all the way to Hawaii to stay "just off the beach".

I also see they have a few all inclusive properties in Dominican Republic, Bahamas, and Cancun. I'm not sure if those are reward bookable though, and again, not a big fan of eating just because it's there. On vacation I like to eat good food and drink good booze.

I'm sure the properties I've mentioned would all be fine, but with my wife's limited vacation schedule, we're fairly picky about extended vacations.

Anybody have experience with Wyndham properties?
