Heard a rumbling it was on the market. I think I know someone who is looking hard at the space.

Ate there tonight.
Won't give a detailed review since the place is closing. But they were slow as frick tonight. Took an hour just to get our appetizer and over 90 minutes for our entrees.
The food was absolutely amazing outside of the veggie pasta which tasted like a butter soaked pasta from Applebee's. We returned it.
The tomato three ways was the best app I've had in forever. A broiled cheese crisp with a sweet tomato salsa was part of it and to die for. Crab cakes with lightly fried mirliton--another amazing app.
The butternut squash in shrimp bisque soup was unreal. The squash was puréed to perfection. Had the perfect amount of richness. Don't even think butter was used.
Grilled fish dinner in a coconut lime broth did not disappoint either.
We each had 3 delicious drinks too. I had 2 Sazerac's and an old fashion. More than I normally drink at a nice dinner only because they were slow as frick. Despite being slow and having one awful entree, I'm definitely sad they are closing. Great food.

Interesting. I never hopped on the One train, for some reason. In fact, I've eaten there exactly one time and that was relatively recently. Not a bad location, so I hope something decent takes its place.
Let's see, maybe an upscale hamburger place. That would be unique.

No doubt for you. Then again, it's pretty much tied with "upscale" hamburgers for the most openings in N.O. for the last year or so.
ETA: Now that the universities are on vacation, think it's time for me to give Ba Chi Canteen on Maple a shot?

Maybe I'll bring my wife . . . yeah, that'll happen.

There are a few people at the 'Vous who she's met. I think she's been there a grand total of five times on special occasions.

Saw this. If he's as good a chef as he is marrying up, he'll do fine.

Interesting.
I'm sort of surprised that One held on as long as it did. After all, it is the loneliest number.

Great guy. He competed at Hogs last year as the guy he was a private chef for is a huge BBQ fanatic and was on the Emeril's based Lardons team.
