With an influx of talent and experience on D getting us back to the top 5-7, that offense should be good enough for a championship run.

This was a successful season. The amount of negativity was at an unjustified and insane level.

I think most of the turmoil was watching our defense struggle. We are not used to that so therefore, the entire program was crumbling permanently.

Our yards per play is right there with the higher ranked teams. We just ran 200 or so less plays over the course of the season.

Defense Played great and the Offense was the problem all along.

Regardless of final rankings, at the end of games, the offense came through more often than the defense.

UGA Offense 1 Defense 0
Ole Miss Offense 1 Defense .5
Alabama Offense 0 Defense 0
Arkansas Offense 1 Defense 1

It was to be expected with losing that many to the NFL. Really looking forward to seeing how much better the D performs next year and how quickly the offense can get up to speed with new skill players.

Our offense failed its final drive, with ample time. Just sayin...

This did not look like a top 20 defense this year with the eye test. Did not see it against UGA, Bama or Ole Miss

Still, those a pretty high rankings. I think LSU just expects a top Defense, and that's probably where some might criticize...But look at that Offense We still should have only lost one game with those numbers...Most years that gets it done!

the defensive stats are skewed due to playing the mid-major teams. this defense is pretty bad

As another person said, our offense would have been much higher if we were running the same # of plays as the top teams.

Part of that has to do with the defense struggling on third down (59th in the country on 3rd down D)

The reasons: LSU Ranked 104 in tackles for a loss and 103 in turnovers gained.

Maybe so, but I do give them credit for scoring 2 4th quarter TDs and on every other offensive series in the 2nd half.

Our defense wasn't bad. We just didn't create turnovers.

If our defense was ranked 20th but actually created turnovers people would be singing a completely different tune
