What a day!! The wife has had the flu since Friday night, the baby has double ear infections and 102 fever, and my dachshund is sick in a bad way. He won't eat and has a growth down by his jaw that has manifested today. He won't move much and only sleeps. I've got an appt for him at the vet on Wednesday.

I've ordered a pizza and having a beer now that the poor little fella is in bed. This may be the best beer, ever.

The flu has about run it's course on the wife and the ear infections are expected for a youngster. I'm much more concerned about the dog. I've already lost one best friend this month. I don't think I can handle something happening to my 32# miniature dachshund.

Ribeye and baked beans.

One of my beagles had a growth on the side of her jaw. Vet said it was an infected salivary gland, he lanced it, lots of puss later, she was on antibiotics and never had another problem. Hope your dog's is not serious.

Nothing worse than a sick baby. It's even worse when the woman is under the weather too.

Had homemade lasagna and water. Going work on my damn 4 wheeler.

Good to hear. He may be just fine after all. He just went bat shite cray cray on the pizza delivery driver and has been pacing for a piece of pizza. This is the first sign of spunk all weekend. The boy and I took him for a ride around town yesterday and he didn't mind innocent passersby or bicyclists. He and I share the same loathing for cyclists and I knew he was down yesterday.

Shrimp po boy and a couple beers at the Hi Tide, with the neighbors.
My boy's on his way over expecting to do some cool weather fishing tomorrow. I hope I can put him on them somewhere along the GICW, Chef, The Rocks, etc.

4, is the growth getting harder and under the jaw/teeth?

I ask because my dog had a growth on top of her snout last month. Layed down, feeling like shite all day...ended up being an abcess tooth. Vet said the tooth fracture shoots everything straight up (or down if on lower jaw).

500 bones later...

500 is child's play around these parts. We had a full blooded mini dachshund that developed an intestinal disease two years ago. That was 6k out the pocket in the span of one month. The cheapest part of that ordeal was the cost to put him to sleep, which was only $50. It cost me $150 for one pill a week prior.

This dog is going to be fine. I'm sure it is minor and 5 to 15 long wheel base 10's will have him back to fighting shape in no time. Merry Christmas to me nonetheless!!
