Why do people saw the antlers off deer that have been hit by cars? NSFW

To OP, I can think of a lot more reasons to saw them off than not to.

Now, the two black fellows that loaded up the 6pt in their truck bed (with camper shell) that's been in the median for 2 days was somewhat unnecessary imo

Meh. I wouldn't run across a four lane highway and do it in morning traffic. If I found it in the woods? Maybe the entire head for a euro mount.

Not to get too sappy, but something seems not right about seeing a grand old buck laying in a highway ditch with the top of its skull cut off. But, dead is dead I guess.
