Would you want an 8 or 16 team playoff in CFB?

People are always saying how "awesome" a larger playoff with 8 or 16 teams would be. I think 4 team playoff is absolutely perfect, it keeps the regular season important like it is now and basically guarantees that the best team in the nation will get a shot at the title.

Wrong on two counts.
A) It was formerly known was Division I-AA.
B) The FCS playoffs are 24 teams. It has not been 8 since 1981.

I like 6 personally with the top two getting a bye. Only going to 4 kind of seems like a waste. Absolutely it should never go more than 8.

FCS (formerly Division 1-AA) has a 24 team playoff.

Double elimination for 8. Need to reduce the season down to 10 games or less though.

They could do an expanded playoff like 14 teams and have bye weeks - Then there is still something to play for in the regular season and we have more teams.
Realistically though I never see it going higher than 8. 4 is not enough though IMO.

-keep BCS
-have BCS select top 8 teams
-playoff games rotate among current BCS bowls
-all other bowls stay constant

This us what I thought they were going to do. Then they went to this just 4 team and committee bullshite that I think is absolutely terrible.

4 team or 8 team playoff accomplishes nothing. Unless every conference champion is included in the playoffs it is pointless
