As someone posted, LSU's success shouldn't be gauged on who is or isn't coaching Alabama.

Finally THE TRUTH,

we pay OUR coaches, not AL coaches.
why should we worry about AL,...
so if they were to have a crappy year, it would be OK for us to have a crappy year as long as we beat Bama?
insane..LSUs goals and expectations should be exactly that

So you're saying to sit on our hands and wait for Saban to retire...

Les is within a year or two of Saban's age and the rest of the SEC will be building their programs while we wait for Alabama to hit a speed bump.

Not very intelligent.

Auburn, Ole Miss and Missouri have improved significantly since the 2012 season. Tennessee is a work in progress. Georgia was hit with the injuries and Florida can't find an offense but still has very fertile recruiting grounds in their backyard.

Which one of these programs would you like LSU to sit behind if and when Alabama's program comes back to the rest of the pack?

Why do we have to wait until Bama's run is over. Why can't we start our own now?

Let's talk cycles, like 1958 to 2003.
Can we expect to "cycle" to another title in 2052? Or do cycles only apply in fantasy wishes to our hated rival to make LSU fans come off more delusional and desperate?

If Saban stays a Bama its goin to be a while befoe they fall. The recruits he brings in and DEVELOPS take that program right over the top. Miles has to get better coaches in place first and secure top recruits.

We need a new head coach sooner rather than later. A regime change would be good. An executive search committee should be formed if not already.

You can't ask a coach whose run is at its end to surround himself with better coaches and think that will fix things. Start with the head coach. We brought Saban in here. Let's bring in the next Saban.

The LSU Gestapo is not going to pay Miles $15 million to just go away.

What do you think are the 2 or 3 major changes that Les needs to make to catch up to Alabama and keep ahead of Auburn

1) Miles needs to stay completely out of game decision making.
2) Miles needs to stay completely out of personnel decision making on the field
3) Miles needs to recruit his arse off.

Don't know if you've heard yet, but Les just signed a contract extension at the beginning of the season. He's not even close to being on the hot seat with the organization, so really, his run is just starting.

Never thought about that actually.

Just guessing, I'd say he stays.

Bama had only two legit national titles before the BCS started...we know all about your "bogus" titles...

This is total bullshite. I don't care about claims from the 1920s and 1930s but there is absolutely NO disputing the 1961, 1979, and 1992 titles. I guess you don't consider the 1978 title legit even though Bama, ranked #3, defeated top ranked Penn State in the Sugar Bowl. You LSU fans love revisionist history and act like football was invented in the year 2000. I think it's really sad that fans of a program like LSU, who has a proud history and tradition of its own, spend so much time trying to pick apart Alabama's history and and tradition. It certainly doesn't reflect well that more time is spent discounting Bama's accomplishments than celebrating LSU's. But whatever makes yall sleep better at night.

THESE....

"1. Recruit more QBs like Mett and go away from dual threat guys."

"Why don't we just figure out a way to beat the bastards WITH Saban? "

"2. Run some misdirections. Look what it did for Bama last Saturday night. We have a very capable stable of running backs."

"If we'd had a Matt Flynn type consistently over the last few years we'd have at least one more championship."

"There is not THAT huge of a gulf between the programs rigth now."

NOT THIS....

"As long as Saban is there- its over in the SEC West (and the SEC)"

We have been the only team to consistently compete with Bama during this run. Hell, 2 of those title could be ours right now if we had the 07' game plan vs. our dual threat or finesse/trick play offense. That's why Saban was so happy at the end of this game, because we are one of the only things b/t him and championships. We don't play to our strength (running) and lose.

1. Run the best back we got 20 carries. (Misdirection vs high toss)
2. Run 2nd best back we got 20 carries. (QB fake/hide ball vs high pitch)
3. Run 3rd best back we got till game over...

I think Chicken assumed a model that follows the current BCS approach and applied it retroactively, i.e., unless the "NC" defeated #2 ranked team, the title is suspect. It's just an approach and doesn't benefit us any more than the next team.

IMO, pitting the "two best" teams in a final game approach is flawed. The goal is for one team to demonstrate its superiority on the field to the exclusion of the most other teams. That takes a moment to digest but that's what the Super Bowl does. It doesn't necessarily match the two best teams since they could conceivably be in the same conference. Rather, the eventual champ can always claim that they demonstrated their superiority to the exclusion of the most other teams.

We keep looking at Bama and think we shoudl be doing jsut as well as them, and it is a ridiculous standard. If Bama wins this year they will be on the greatest run of all time. 4 in 5 years, and a 3 beat is ridiculous by any standards. I obviosuly think we should be doing better, but shite most teams have a down year now and again, and most teams aren'y winning a NC every year. Bama isn't having down years and IS winning NCs and no one else is.

Don't compair us to anyone outside the SEC. FSU and tOSu don't play anyone.

So, don't worry, everyone, because soon Bama MIGHT sink down to a level at which we can beat them?

Thanks, but you can't fix stupid.
