Anyone who doesn't realize we are in a decline in the football program is blind at this point. Just look a little closer.

It isn't as dramatic a decline that we saw at USC after Carroll left or what happened at Florida between Spurrier and Meyer.

That said, it is not realistic to consider ourselves yearly NC contenders. Hell at this point I don't think we should even expect to yearly contend for an SEC West Division title.

This is what we have with Miles. Win about 80% of our games, but never quite enough to make us truly relevant.

And in the coming years with the playoff, Miles will do just enough to make sure we consistently finish as the 5th team in the 4 team playoff.

Yeah, decline...right...uh huh.

Second most wins in the nation the last decade and most wins in the SEC during that time.

Decline...got it.

Eta: comical that you used the word "reality".

And outside of the biggest fluke in CFB history (2007) we have exactly jack shite to show for it.

You evidently have no idea what the word "decline" means do you?

We are the second most competitive program in the most competitive conference in the country.

Everyone needs to relax.

There isn't a single program in the country not named Alabama that is competitive year in and year out as LSU.

strictily regarding miles' tenure, three 11 win seasons to start helps a lot. if you suck at your job today, can you tell your boss "but i was awesome in 2007"?

I agree and have been preaching that we need to get rid of Miles for years now. I think that the high is over. Cam is the only thing that will save this team. Honestly we've done better than I ever expected this year. I doubt that we will beat Alabama or A&M. We're looking at a 4 loss season... I'm an LSU grad and still wear my colors on gameday....

We've lost 3 of 4 bowl games
We're looking at our 3rd 3 loss season since 08.
Possibility of our 2nd 4 loss season since 08.

Our top recruiting talent will be raided this year by Bama and FSU.

10-2 won't be possible without that incredible talent pool.

Not crossing the 50 yard line in a BCS title game in your backyard is a start. Also, losing to an inferior ACC team in the chicken sandwich bowl doesn't help.

Feel free to go back to 2000 or beyond.
Almost 15 years of very similar outcomes is NOT a decline.
It's pretty damn consistent.

we're going to finish with likely 3-4-5 losses and lose a ton of talent for next year. decline.
