I've had Best Stop, Don's, Tony's, Market Basket (LC on Lake St), Cormies, and at various other restaurants in LC and Baton Rouge. I used to be a big fan of Market Basket's boudin, but I heard they changed their recipe and it's not as good. I recently started eating Cormie's boudin and it has to be some of the best I've ever had. It has a good kick (spice) that I don't see much elsewhere and the flavor is perfect.

Thoughts?

My favorite for a while was Billeaud's in Broussard, but currently I'm giving the nod to NuNu's.

I'm a big fan of billy's, but I haven't tried that many places.

well then....you're a fan of one of the best. not many other places will top billy's.

t-boys is my favorite. billy's is a very close second.

We did the boudin trail and found a little over-looked place in Rayne. Everybody in our group liked Trahans the best.

Bobby at Cade's market in St Martinville had sold the store brands (Richard's and whatever else ) for years and got tired of all the rice they kept adding so decided to try his own..... Anyway it is awesome, he doesn't promote it heavily because he doesn't make 100 pounds a day but if youre ever in the area it is a just try, lot of meat and spice , just enough rice to call it boudin

that's pretty cool. but, if you didn't head over to v.p., your trail was cut too short.

I've had it from many places. My top three is

1. Redlich's - Basile
2. Tboys - Mamou
3. Superette - Eunice

Something about the way that area makes it. Rabideaux's from Iowa gets honorable mention.

I can say with confidence that almost every place named has the best boudin in Louisiana. The heavy hitters are pretty well represented so far.

However, nobody said "any random gas station in Lafayette".

For real? Definitely picking some up this weekend now. Had their chicken salad - delicious.

They sold me their hush puppies pre-fried, 8 for $1, last weekend.
