I already know what the naysayers will say... I am not trying to make a statement of certainty..

I am throwing this out there to see if anyone could see it this way....

COULD it be? The staff is happy with Dupree, Blacknall, and D. Williams.... three outstanding WRs ....

And then go after the 2015 class of WRs?

If they do sign so many WRs. those 3 plus, Noil -Quinn - Upchurch -Chark @ WR ...

Then would there be any room or attraction for the guys awaiting in 2015 class ??

Tyron Billy Johnson
Daylon Charlot
Jazz Ferguson
Jaquel Gant
Michale Chigbu
Rashid Bonnette

QUESTION THEN! Would you rather take the 3-4 and have room for those in 2015, or risk losing out on the quality of 2015 for an influx of WRs in this class????

***Making signing a JUCO wr in Leslie looking genius

No because we NEED Noil and Quinn also. Plus looking more and more like Upchurch will be a Hybrid TE with his size.

Plus you can never depend on the recruits that are juniors in the class signing when it's their turn.

Just imagine what will happen if lsu loses LF when miles and staff could have been getting other RBs.

Hill, blue, and maybe Hilliard gone at the end of the season. That leaves Magee and the incoming recruiting class.

Pretty simple to me, take this year's group if they want in. Quinn, Noil, Dupre and Blacknall are all better prospects than the '15 group aside from maybe Johnson. Just because the '15 group is talented and ranked highly now overall, it doesn't mean they are on the same level as the guys this year. Could mean a lot of wrs nationally haven't been evaled or it could mean that the '15 wr group is down a bit from this years. This year's group is pretty damn special for any year. Plus with the numbers at WR we'll have room for 3 or so in next year's class. Not counting the '14 or '15 class we'll have Avery Johnson, Travin Dural, John Diarse and Kevin Spears on the roster in '15. Add 5-6 '14 kids coupled with competition likely driving at least 1 of the other 4 out then the room is definitely there. Cam isn't gonna have just 2 wrs out there so we'll need enough competition to fill 4-5 spots on the field at times. Some of these guys will pan out and some won't. We know that all too well. We're kind of held hostage by whatever LA produces. It just so happens that 2 straight classed are loaded at WR and we'll take the number we feel is right even if it appears to be too many. Then you have to factor in the Jones kid in '16. WR shouldn't be an issue for the forseeable future. Now if we can just get some OL and DL kids coming down the pipe. Hate having to fight OOS for too many of those guys. Usually means FL and I hate recruiting FL kids. They are too unreliable.

Chalk will be used special yeams and Defensive reserve and Upchurch may end up as a TE or Fullback by the time he gets to LSU.

As far as Im concerned we dont have a WR commit yet ....

Chark is a WR all the way. I don't know why everyone is so quick to push him somewhere else.

I think the WRs are more important for this class than 2015.

WRs that are a must take if they commit, regardless of #'s:
Dupre
Noil
Quinn
Blacknall
D'haquille

All of these guys are better than just good, they are all elite players. You dont pass on 1 of these guys just because we will have a lot of WRs on the roster. You pass on them, they go to another major football program and it comes back to bite you in the arse. Cant let that happen. So yes, plus the 2 commits, we could take 7 WRs this year. And I wont be mad about it at all. All these guys are THAT good.

And I know Chark is currently listed as a WR and it sounds like thats where he will play, but I really think he will be on D when its all said and done. He reminds me so much of Mo Claiborne in highschool. They are so similair. 2 way studs that are phenominal athletes. Plus, he would have a better chance getting playing time on D then he would over any of those guys listed above. Kinda like Kavahra Holmes. Came in as a WR, but is just a great athlete that can do both. Saw his best chance at gettting PT would be by moving to CB. And its working. Just had a great spring and is getting better. Plus, when we have guys that are great athletes and can play both, we usually put them on D. You put your best skill position players on offense( Josh Reed, Clayton,Hester etc). You put your best athletes on D( Mo, Laron, PP, Lamar Louis, Holmes etc) . You gotta be refined and have great timing and finess on offense. D is all about getting out there, cracking skulls, and running around like a mad man. You can really cut a guy loose on D. Which is why its better to have you best athletes on D.

I agree. If Noil, Quinn, Williams, Dupre and Blacknall all want in, we make room. You don't turn away guys of this caliber and you can't bank on the receivers of 15'. We took a chance and went all in for LF but he's a once in a decade type back.

People forget we could lose 6 WRs after the season. Boone and wright for sure. Fobbs and Williams will probably get processed and obj and Landry could bolt.

Spears, Leslie, diarse, dural and Peterson are all we'll return. We need these WRs

half the class will be wrs and dbs.

Leslie, Landry, Beckham, Boone, Wright, Fobbs, Williams, wont be on the team come 2015.

If a guy like dural blows up, he could leave early, and of course if we sign quille he will be one and done.

So thats a possible 9 wrs gone before any 2015 player sniffs the field at LSU.

Good post KG and good discussion overall in this thread. These types of threads are why I could never completely abandon this place.

Haha thanks. And yea I know what you mean. I dont post nearly as much on the Tiger Rant anymore as I do here. Too much BS goes on in the Rant. Plus, recruiting is 1 of the most interesting things in all of college football IMO. People on this board are usually very knowledgeable and not nearly as much garbage on the rant, which is why I like the recruiting board the best on TD.

An increase in the number of wideouts we normally recruit could also be a strong indication that Cameron plans to open up the offense and pass more. I am loving it! I can't wait to see what LSU has in store for opposing defenses. I obviously don't want the running game to ever be abandoned, and the staff would have to be completely foolish to do so, but I am going to love me some "Flying Tigers" this fall!

The Tigers won't ever abandon the run! I also think and heard that chark will play D... He's a big DB but not so much at WR, he's not small but most of the guys mentioned at WR are a lil bigger, and pure WR prospects! Anyway and I also can't wait to see what Cam brings!
