I'm a big CC advocate, but...

Even in the most blatant cases of self defense, unless you are prepared to give up absolutely everything to have, you better not shoot someone.

Read a few cases where people have defended themselves legally. In one case a man was attacked by a 300lb dude raging on LSD. It took something like 8 rounds with a .45 to finally neutralize him. There was no question the man acted in self defense.
Well... that man had a kid. And a baby momma. The baby momma sued the defendant because that drughead was allegedly her child's provider. They sold off his family's property to pay for damages incurred in the civil suit.

The guy could have easily died. If you can get away with an arse beating, though, just take it because the legal system is so fricked it's not worth it. Unless you just want to prove a point. If you do, be prepared for it.

I know stories like this as well but this is the problem we face in this country. Common sense just isnt common anymore

But some Black people blindly defend other Black people without objectively looking at the big picture.

Apparently that is perfectly acceptable in our society

How many 17 yr old black teens get killed every year by blacks? Let one "white" hispanic kill one though and they are like "oh hell nah"

Agreed. At some point in our society, the notion of protecting your neighbors and their property and acting as a community somehow got transformed into vigilantism.

NBR is a prime example.
There's no effort to prevent anyone from killing each other. The cops show up and take some crime scene photos and no one goes to jail.

just be ready for your day in court. I'm all for people being able to exercise your 2nd amendment rights.... but if you kill someone, especially someone unarmed, get ready to sit in a courtroom being judged by a jury of your "peers".

This isn't that black and white.

I heard a very similar case in my CC class. Almost identical except the shooter was defending a cop getting assaulted by a guy that was roid raging. Took him years to clear his name in the civil suit. That case always stuck with me.

It's laughable to turn on WAFB in the morning and listen to the shite that occurred overnight in Baton Rouge.

You saw GZ nose and the back of his head right? It is pretty reasonable to assume he was in fear for his life.

This would have never gone to trial had the media not labeled GZ as a white guy.

re: Zimmerman (Trayvons!) trial discussion thread. NOT GUILTY! Surprised?

Well, I don't think Zimmerman was protecting a damn thing, in this case. Has there been any evidence that Trayvon was staling anything?

I would quickly shoot to kill an unarmed attacker, but I don't go around hunting people and instigating stuff.

Zimmerman did great, right up until the moment he got out of the truck looking for a confrontation. Why put yourself in a position to use deadly force if you don't have to?
Now, if that numbnuts comes up to my truck, different deal.
