Treble hooks or not? I've used both and had good luck. Takes longer to unhook the treble hooks.

For me it depends on how fast the bite is. If its fast and furious i use a Cale hook. If its slower i use a trebble hook bc i think it gives you a better chance for a hook up.

Damn, I hate treble hooks for trout/redfish...especially when you mix in a few undersized fish and hardheads.
(Edit) I usually spend all of my time unhooking fish instead of fishing...

I'll only use them when I have people on the boat that have trouble setting the hook.

As mentioned, kahle hooks,

#6 4X strong hooks are money.

As long as you keep a hook out handy trebles are the way to go for specks. Especially at .30-.35 cents apiece for live skrimps

How are circle hooks for live bait?

Or does Kahle = circle?

Kahle hooks = very similar to circle hooks but with the addition of a barb at the end of the hook

I would use kahle hooks over circle hooks every day of the week for trout/redfish...

Circle hooks don't have a barb?

From my understanding circle hooks have a curved barb, kahle hooks have a straight barb, a little wider gap, and the barb part is slightly offset from the part where the hook eye is.

I'm so confused. Can you post back to back pics of a circle/kahle hook? And do you have to set kahle hooks?
