Ill also say that wahada sushi is overrated. All the students in that area rave about it being the best sushi around but I think it's by far the worst. The drunken fish doesn't get enough love.

I'll second both of those statements

I like a good Roul's burger, but I've never been to the one by LSU.

AM Mart is one I completely agree with. People listed that place in their top 10 best restaurant in BR when we had that thread..

What!?

Yeah dude, 5 at least in the area. Used to go to the one by Southern all the time when I worked up there. Now I go to the one on Terrace usually, just south of downtown in the ghetto.

I agree with wahada. That's another place I only visit due to hours. They are open until like 11.

They have some good deals but its not great sushi.

Jones and I actually dined in recently and the lady waiting on us must be really used to getting broke college students because she went above and beyond when we started ordering a lot of stuff and it was obvious he isn't a student. She checked on us a ton, brought us extras of stuff, and even came out with a complimentary dessert for us.

I still ask overrated by whom? What group of folks? And, overrated as what? 5 star restaurants? As a chain?

Just because a place is crowded doesn't mean it's overrated in general. Lots of places are what they are, maybe average but popular among certain groups.

George's is what it is. How is it overrated? Overrated as what or for what?

What's your list of underrated restaurants?

Best sushi, IMO, is at Sushi Yama.

Still, Sushi Masa has been getting all of my business lately, because I can gorge myself with all the sushi I can possibly eat, plus other delights, for 15 bucks.

Calm down, Gris Gris. It's not that big of a deal.

All I'm basing my list on is from multiple people telling me to go there to eat, because of how good it supposedly is, and it not living up to expectations.

As far as underrated, I'll say that places in BR that don't get enough love would be...

The aforementioned Sushi Masa
Thai Pepper
Rama
Maison Lacour
Dorothy's
Chicken Shack
Uncle E's

You're right.
Your post is definitely not a big deal.

That explains a lot. What's multiple? 3?

Carry on....

Yes, Otis. Check out the drunken fish for once.

I will agree that la Fonda's is probably the most overrated place in lafayette. Food is bad, place is packed, margaritas are meh at best.

All the la Fonda supporters only like the margaritas because after 2 they don't even remember their own name.
