based on the talk from this board I think Mr. John's would be the choice for my next birthday.

Well, we kind of have alot of restaurants that are good. Can you give us an area of town, kind of food, price, etc you are thinking?

Cochon, Borgne, Baru (back room), Boucherie are the last four places I've been to for birthdays and were all good choices for a small to medium groups. Boucherie would be the toughest to pull off contingent on group size

There are literally tons of good restaurants from which to choose. You might want to narrow down cost, dress code, area of town, type of food...things like that. There's a dining guide at the top of the page to the right. You might want to look through that and ask about some restaurants of interest to you. Not everyone writes reviews there, but there are lots of opinions written up on this board.

Cost- $12-$28
Dress- Dressy Casual
Area of town- don't care
type of food- do not want something exotic, but something fresh.

That's an interesting history of places. Here are a few you might like.

Katie's
Mandina's
Coop's
Casamento's-cash and beer only
Liuzza's By The Track
Boucherie
Ye Olde College Inn

Again, you should probably look through the Dining Guide. I can't tell a lot from the list you gave.

Going to visit as many of the Besh happy hours that I can for birthday this year. American Sector, Luke, Borgne and Domenica. Should be a nice time and we will still have plenty of time for other stops after.

Sounds like a good idea. I'd save Domenica for last and get reservations around ~5:30

Are you from New Orleans?

I would suggest an entire cuisine reset.
