My sister and her 2 kids come in town tonight. What are some good restaurants that are kid friendly. One is almost 2 and the other is 1. I want to take them somewhere with great food and where we won't annoy other diners. uptown, mid city, whd suggestions please. Any kind of cuisine. TIA

Mr. Ed's has very good food, and I would consider them to be "kid-friendly"...might be very crowded if going on Friday due to Lent

I've been wanting to try out Katie's. what's your favorite entree?

American sector seems like a good option as well. I've only sat at the bar there

I'd add Mandina's and a place like High Hat.

I said the same thing in the GMT on the OT today. I think Casamento's is kid friendly as well.

No game. Our scheduled opponent has an FA Cup match. It was cancelled. I might actually be productive.

I forgot today is Friday so casamentos is probably the best bet. Is the wait usually ridiculously long?

There is usually a line on the weekends. I would imagine a Friday during lent would be bad.

Nice work as usual. I checked several of the places out and they look like what we are searching for. We will do at least one really nice place while there, but I prefer hole-in-the-wall local jernts to eat in when I travel without having to worry about impressing customers, etc.

Mandina's is an old well known neighborhood restaurant on Canal near Carrollton. It's a decent size, not quiet and very casual with a huge menu. www.mandinas.com
They take reservations, but that doesn't necessarily mean there would be no wait time. Fridays during Lent are busy if you're trying to at night. You might try for early reservations.

Don't think I'd try Casamento's on a Lent Friday unless you're going very early. Best bet is try where you can get reservations if you're looking for seafood.

ETA: If you want Casamento's, I'd try it for early or late lunch.

I enjoyed Joey K's on Magazine. Had a great oyster poboy there. It's small, but casual. Hav no idea if it takes reservations. It would be fine to bring children there. Very laid back.

If you're getting gelato La Divina a few doors down is far superior.

Yea that might be a issue bc they are not getting into town until 7pm so we will try for dinner at 8. I'm almost tempted to just go to superior seafood. It will be busy but I don't know if the wait will be too long since its a huge restaurant.

Going there today would entail being there atleast 20 minutes before they open.
