F-U Pat Yasinkas

LINK

The highlight:

quote:

In the minds of many Saints fans, that meant vindication. But that’s nothing more than blind loyalty and Saints fans are missing the point by a mile. Tagliabue found that virtually all of Goodell’s factual findings were correct, but decided the punishment didn’t fit the crime.

quote:

But, as I wrote on the day this all started, the Saints have no one to blame but themselves. Their arrogance was their downfall. If they had simply stopped the bounty program the minute the NFL told them to, we never would have heard about it. Instead, the Saints denied it and kept right on doing it and it all caught up to them.

ESPN still spewing the propaganda. Still waiting for the public apology for that wiretapping story.

Why is Yasinkas writing this now?

I said this a while back on this board and got killed lol. The things you quoted there are true. People assumed because Tagliabue dropped the player punishments, this meant they were innocent. That's just not what happened at all.

He's also right that the punishment had more to do with lying and covering things up than the bounties themselves. This has all been known from the beginning.

Bring the heat y'all, I can take it.

Something to do with "today in NFC South history".

Then why did they punish Fujita, who was here for one GW season before leaving for the Browns?

Why bother at this point?

We've gone over this a million times.
2 million.

Tagliabue vacated the punishments because he saw it for what it was -- a blatant attempt to make the Saints scapegoats for what was common practice in the NFL.

Funny you bring him up. Fujita was the one guy who apparently was absolutely proven to be innocent in all of this.

That's just Saints homers making sh!t up. Tagliabue vacated the punishments because in a violent sport, there is no way to prove what hits were bounty related hits, and what hits were just normal footbal hits.

As I said, he was the only person. Not sure what the point is of those quotes.

ETA: If they let it be known Fujita was innocent, why wouldn't they do the same for the rest of the guys if they were also found to be innocent? Makes no sense.

How is it "this x infinity"? Tagliabue himself said what Yasinskas said.

Goodell maintains for months the Saints are guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors. Taglibue comes in and immediately drops the penalties because they're guilty of what Goodell said they were guilty of?

Someone's not thinking this through.

If tags says anything other than what he said then Vilma wins his defamation case plain and simple. How else can anyone explain "you're guilty and we have the evidence to prove it but we aren't going to punish anyone"?

re: F-U Pat Yasinkas

He vacated the punishments because when he was the commish he ok'd pay for performance programs under as long as the players put in their own money and some other stipulations. I can't remember it all, but you can find the old espn story on youtube.

Goodell goofed and Tags knew it. Goodell lucked out when the judge threw out Vilma's suit, but the rift between the NFL and the players is way wider now. They don't trust him because of the way he handled the whole thing.
