re: Thread for those who think this is a good hire - landrywasbeast30
It was pretty well known that Sarver was cheap, and let that roster fall apart. I guess everyone looking at records must think Del Negro would have been a better hire than Gentry....

re: Official: Alvin Gentry Hired for New Head Coach - landrywasbeast30
So why wasn't Golden State offense this good last year under Mark Jackson, when the Clips had the best offense? Guess who was with that Clips team? Blake Griffin had his best season and finished top 3 in MVP voting under Gentry, and his numbers noticeably fell this year. Also, as someone posted...

re: What does this hire mean for Asik? - landrywasbeast30
Wouldn't that just mean more offensive boards for Asik if no one guarded him? I don't think you know what you are talking about....

re: What does this hire mean for Asik? - landrywasbeast30
Bogus does almost nothing on offense. If you have Asik with Davis, Gordon, Holiday, and a 3 and d sf, Asik's weakness won't be so obvious. Spacing is crucial....

You would rather Monty over a guy who made the Western Conference Finals with Phoenix, and is the architect of that Warriors offense? ...

re: Official: Alvin Gentry Hired for New Head Coach - landrywasbeast30
I was one of the first on the TT bandwagon for Pels, even before it became a legit rumor during the season, but I love the Gentry hire. I think there is more of a chance of Gentry making this team great offensively, and hiring people to fix the defense, than TT or JVG fixing the defense, and hiring...

re: Lowe/Arnovitz on Thibs and the Pels... - landrywasbeast30
You have no proof that he wouldn't have played them this season therefore your criticism is unfair and unjustified.
Exactly. Perfect example of how JVG was debating. That was by far the worst thing about what he was saying. It's one of those things where you can't argue against ...

re: Where's all the white athletic small forwards in the league? - landrywasbeast30
bruh
I'm serious. Black wing players with Budinger's skill set coming out of college go top 5. Budinger went in second round, which was lower than I even remembered....

re: Where's all the white athletic small forwards in the league? - landrywasbeast30
If you think he is an athletic sf you are not familiar with him. You can't be serious with that.
You embarrassed yourself here. Budinger was an incredible run and jump athlete. 6'7 former volleyball player. If Budinger had been black, he would have been talked about as potentiall...

re: Lowe/Arnovitz on Thibs and the Pels... - landrywasbeast30
Little off topic, but did anyone hear the Jeff Van Gundy podcast with Lowe? What an embarrassment Van Gundy was. Props to Lowe for standing his ground in his own way, and not just letting Van Gundy say incredibly dumb things without being called out. ...

re: Will Ellerbe start?? - landrywasbeast30
I looked it up. I always looked at Wake as an olb, and always heard him talked about as an olb. Now I'm confused. All of their talent seemed to be best suited to play in a 3-4. Also, I've scene sites before show teams as 4-3 defenses that were clearly 3-4. I thought the whole point of them ...

re: Will Ellerbe start?? - landrywasbeast30
his first year in Miami was not a step down from his year in baltimore. nice try though.
I've said this before, but I remember hearing that he was rated as one of the worst lb's in football that first year in Miami. He was one of the worst signings and worst contracts in football ...

re: Highest the Saints have drafted a LB since 1995 - landrywasbeast30
Kept waiting for Hodge to be good. Great athlete. Dude looked like he spent all his time in the weight room, and no time on the practice field. If I remember correctly, even the way his helmet fit on his head looked goofy as hell....

re: I'm so happy a pick wasn't wasted on one of the "Edge Rushers" - landrywasbeast30
 Thank you. I actually read the analysis from the sites you listed. There is nothing about him being versatile, and run defense and pass coverage are clear weaknesses. The idea that he is different and more versatile because he is 250 instead of 245 is silly. I like the pick, and like th...

re: I'm so happy a pick wasn't wasted on one of the "Edge Rushers" - landrywasbeast30
Ray and Beasley are both around 245. If Gregory is the only guy that fits the description, this thread is kind of pointless. My point still stands. Even if you exclude Gregory, all these other guys are similar. The argument is that Kikaha is more versatile, which isn't true....

re: Sean Payton On Why We Didn't Draft A WR - landrywasbeast30
Troy Brown was actually a pretty good wr, and Pats had great defenses in those early Super Bowls. Also, the Pats have been brilliant at changing their offense to fit what they have. Not sure Payton has shown that ability yet. Edelman is a great example of Pats using their talent in best possi...
