Give me your best texmex or BBQ recommendation that's fairly close to I10. Thanks.

Chuy's... not right off of 10, but not too far out of the way.

Jarro Cafe. Exit Gessner. This is real Mexican not texmex.

El Real, Escalantes, Cyclone Anaya's, etc.

You'll have a lot of options.

The steak fajitas at Lupe Tortillas are damn good. I often just order two orders of steaks fajita meat with no tortillas or extras. Don't want anything masking the flavor of that beef.

Gatlins BBQ. It's in the heights and close to the interstate. Voted best BBQ in houston by the houston chronicle. If you want texmex, i would recommend the taco truck next to alabama ice house, other than that all the texmex places are the same to me but gatlins is a must.

There is a Chuy's on the Katy freeway - exit Westgreen and go down the frontage road.

Lupe's service is terrible. Don't waste your time. Go to El Rancho (exit Barker Cypress). Better quality meat and same recipe on their fajita's.

BBQ - Exit Mason, go south. Across the street from Burger King in a strip center is Nonmacher's. Best there AND look at the posters on the wall - playing cowboy's and Iranians. Classic bbq. I always get the chopped beef sandwich.
