Just thinking about if there is another time of the year that is so bad for sports lovers ... Part of it for me has to do with not being a big basketball fan until March Madness starts. I watch the Hornets and follow it but I very rarely watch the sport when it does not involve home teams.

During football season I watch every game possible and during baseball season the rivalry games pique my interest (Yanks/Sox, Giants/Dodgers, Cards/Cubs).

I know there is some low points during the summer but with football training camps along with baseball it has to be better than right now.

Anyone else feel that way?

ETA: A lot of my disdain of Basketball comes from the lack of Parity and the fact that great players team up together. Ever since Shaq joined the Lakers with Kobe it has never been the same for me and it is only getting worse in my opinion.

There's not a bad time of the year for me. There's always a sport season that I enjoy going on. College football: late Aug-Jan. College basketball:Nov-April. NHL: Sept-May. MLS: Mar-Winter. EPL: Aug-May.

Yeah, this time of year isn't as good as football season, but we've had Signing Day, college basketball in full swing, college baseball and lax starting up, and the NBA and NHL in midseason. Oh, and the hope of spring training.

The summer when its just the grind of the baseball season is the hardest time.

Clearly some non-baseball fans in here.

I love the shite. Bring on the Summer.

Post NSD/Super Bowl and pre 1st spring training game is also the hardest for me. Don't care about basketball or hockey outside of March Madness and the wait for the first spring game seems to take forever. Once Spring Training gets here, March Madness, opening day , spring games, and The Masters are right around the corner.

I didn't mention Golf and should have because I love watching it so that goes into why I think late Spring/Summer is better.

Before I started following European soccer it was the worst sports time of the year as the NBA and NHL regular season sucks (too many teams making the playoffs dilute the product). Now, it's the June-July in odd numbered years (after Champions League, Stanley Cup, and NBA Finals on years without a major international soccer tournament)

this. CBB is heating up as the tourney draws near, even the NBA is getting closer to the end, but in July, BB is in the dog days.

The entire MLB season up until the start of the NFL. Absolutely miserable.

it's all summer...all the free time (for students not taking summer classes) and we have nothing to look forward to. we also have all the time in the world, but nothing to watch since most shows are done with their seasons.

What I've learned in this thread: I'm the only maniac that not only watches, but looks forward to, the 150 baseball games I'm about to start watching in a couple if weeks. All 9 innings. Lapping that shite up.
