not hardly. They could easily limit it to just installing on xboxes that were tied together in xbox live family plan, and limit the number of installs to like 3 tops.

thats way too much work for the developer as well as for the XBL system. TBH I don't find split screen coop to be enjoyable. I would rather play online coop and have a full screen. I have a feeling that lots of people feel similarly, therefore they are not going to make those changes happen. Who knows? Maybe they'll add that in next generation.

So you guys are telling me old school N64s that had 4 split screens at a time for multiplayer are "more" powerful than current generation consoles? That's sounds pretty ludicrous.
If anything its not routinely put in games anymore Bc I'm sure it's a very small minority of customer base where a couple kids get together and play in the same console anymore like we used to. Everyone has their own now so it's pretty pointless to develop for split screen when 99% of the kids could just play someone via Live or PSN

Today's game are far more graphically intense on these systems than the games on prior gen systems.

I understand where you're coming from. My best friend back in the day and I had some great times doing co-op on Halo 2 and 3 and Battlefront 2. Something about working together even if you only have half a screen is fun. I think it's great you want to share that with your son.
